Isaac Newton
Isaac Newton (January 4, 1643 - March 31, 1727) was an English physicist, mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher, regarded as one of the most influential figures in the history of science. He is best known for formulating the laws of motion and the law of universal gravitation, which laid the foundations of classical mechanics. In his work PhilosophiƦ Naturalis Principia Mathematica (1687), he developed a mathematical framework that explained the motion of bodies both on Earth and in the cosmos. Newton also made significant contributions to optics and was one of the founders of calculus. His legacy profoundly transformed physics and our understanding of the universe.
