Instructions

Select the kana sounds from both the hiragana and katakana charts. Click on the boxes that match the sound you choose. The 拗音 (yōon) box to includes digraphs and the 廃止 (haishi) box adds obsolete characters. When you're ready, click the "Start Test" button.

Type the rōmaji for the character you see on the screen and click the magnifying glass button to check your answer and display the next character. Your score will update automatically with each response.
