Inge Lehmann
Inge Lehmann (13 May 1888 - 21 February 1993) was a Danish seismologist and geophysicist best known for discovering the Earth's solid inner core in 1936. By analyzing seismic waves generated by earthquakes, Lehmann proposed that the Earth's core was not entirely liquid, as previously believed, but instead contained a solid inner portion.
