Marie Anne Pierrette Paulze Lavoisier
Marie Anne Pierrette Paulze Lavoisier (January 20, 1758 - February 10, 1836) was a French chemist whose work was essential to the development of modern chemistry. She collaborated closely with her husband, Antoine Lavoisier, on key experiments that disproved the phlogiston theory and established the law of conservation of mass. She was also a skilled translator, rendering important scientific texts from English and German into French, thus facilitating the integration of ideas from scientists such as Joseph Priestley. In addition, she meticulously illustrated experimental apparatus and procedures, providing accurate documentation of the scientific advances of her time.
