Ellen Gleditsch
Ellen Gleditsch (December 29, 1879 - June 5, 1968) was a Norwegian chemist and radiochemist renowned for her fundamental contributions to the study of radioactivity and isotopes. She worked with Marie Curie in Paris, where she helped purify and precisely measure radium and determine its decay constants. She later conducted key research on the uranium series and advanced rigorous quantitative methods in radiochemistry. Her scientific work strengthened the experimental foundations of nuclear physics and chemistry in the first half of the 20th century.
